Probably the last bunch of the season, I bought some more peonies this weekend. The pictures I took of them reminded me of the quote above (although I can't seem to find who said it). I've had it in my quote book for years now and although its taken on different meanings for me, it is still oh so true.

I've always loved that quote -- it's from the translation of a poem, I believe, by Jorge Luis Borges - "Y uno aprende". The full english translation is here.
