Lamps On The Brain

I think we need some new lamps for our bedside tables. Well, if I am being honest, our entire bedroom really just needs to be decorated. When we started the rehab project the kitchen was our first priority, for obvious reasons. The kitchen and the living room are pretty much one big room, so that was the next on the list of rooms to finish. Then there was the bathroom, after that the "office" space (which is really just a desk crammed full of stuff and in desperate need of some shelving and organization, hence the office in a closet pictures). So, by the time we got to the bedroom I was completely out of steam. Then life was consumed with planning a wedding for a year and now that it's all over I took a look around at the bedroom and wanted to shed a tear for it. We basically have a dresser, a headboard that I don't really like, and two bedside tables with lamps that were hastily purchased from Ikea in a moment of weakness. (Honestly, I think they pump hallucinogens into the air vents at that place. If I am in there for more than a half an hour I inevitably walk out with at least $100 worth of things that I drag all the way home only to wonder, who the hell bought this?)

So that was a very long winded way of saying, I am finally ready to decorate the bedroom. Or at least think about decorating the bedroom. I love the shape of that lamp from Sprout Home and think something that's oddly shaped like that would be a good place to start. Sprout has a store in Chicago and one in Brooklyn, which is packed full of both home and garden supplies. (If you haven't already picked up on this, I am easily distracted). So while I was browsing for lamps I couldn't help but fall in love with this tin cup:

I love that the description says "much cuter than the kind you'd get in jail." Indeed. They also have these candles there that are in the most unusual and intriguing scents:

Aside from the fantastic packaging, they come in scents like cedar, birch, hyancith, olive and fresh grass. The olive blossom candle has black and white polka dots on the label. Yes, please.
